This article is to explain the upcoming changes to the Mintos account inactivity fee. These changes will be live from 1st October 2025.
Key Details
- Fee amount: €4.90 per month
- Charge date: 1st date of every calendar month
The fee applies if all the following conditions are met over the past 360 days on your Mintos account:
- No investments (including manual or automated), sales, deposits, or withdrawals were made. As soon as you take one of these actions, your status will reset back to active for the next 360 days.
- The account holds no ETFs, bonds, real estate, or funds in Smart Cash (if you hold investments in loans only, and there is no activity on the account for more than 360 days, the fee will apply).
- The account is not in the process of closure and is not locked under investigation or for other reasons.
Changes Compared to the Previous Terms

Important to Know
- Funds in recovery: If you have only funds in recovery but also have available cash on the 1st date of the month, the inactivity fee still applies.
- No negative balances: Your account balance will not go below zero because of the inactivity fee.
- No investments and no funds: If you have no active investments and no available funds in your Mintos account, you won’t be charged the inactivity fee (funds in recovery are not considered active investments).
- If you have an automated investment portfolio that’s actively investing, you won’t be charged this fee.
How to keep your account active
You can take any of the following actions to keep your Mintos active, meaning the inactivity fee won’t apply
- You make at least one investment, sale, deposit, or withdrawal within 360 days.
- Your account holds ETFs, bonds, real estate, or funds in Smart Cash.
- Inactivity fees won't be charged for accounts under investigation or closure.
Examples
- Example 1: You last invested 13 months ago, you have €200 of available cash, investments in loans, and no ETFs, bonds, or Smart Cash. → You’ll be charged €4.90 on the 1st date of the month.
- Example 2: You haven’t invested for 12 months, but you made a withdrawal 3 months ago. → No inactivity fee (withdrawals reset the 360-day period).
-
Example 3: You only have funds in recovery. You withdraw them to your bank account before the end of the month, so your available funds are €0 at the beginning of the next month. → No inactivity fee.
