You can only cash out investments from your Core Loans portfolio if they still meet current Core Loans eligibility criteria. When you cash out, your investments are sold to investors who invest using the Core Loans portfolio, so they must comply with the current requirements and limitations of that portfolio.
How it works
Eligible investments are sold to other investors using the Core Loans portfolio, as soon as demand allows. Processing the cash out itself may still take some time even once a buyer is found.
Cash out eligibility
An investment is available for cash out if:
- It is a Set of Notes — a bundled group of underlying loans — with a late loan exposure of 20% or less.
- It is a Set of Notes with no underlying loans more than 10 days pending or overdue
- It has a Mintos Risk Score from 10.0 to 3.5 — Mintos's rating of the investment's credit risk, where 10.0 is the lowest risk.
- The lending company has not been suspended from the Secondary Market or defaulted on Mintos.
- The investment still generates interest and can bring a profit to the buyer.
- The lending company offers other investments that qualify for Core Loans
What if my investments are not eligible for cash out?
If an investment in your portfolio doesn't meet these criteria, it's simply not included in Available for cash out. It becomes eligible again once it meets the criteria on its own; for example, a late loan recovers, or a buyback occurs, where the lending company repurchases the defaulted loan, or once it reaches maturity.
If an investment is not available for cashout, you can still sell it through the Secondary Market. Learn how to sell loan investments using the Secondary Market.
If part of your cash out doesn't complete
Since eligibility can change at any time — including while a cash out is already in progress — part of your requested amount can become ineligible mid-process. If you notice part of your requested amount hasn't cashed out after several days under normal market conditions, this is the most likely reason. To retry:
- Cancel your existing cash out request
- Submit a new cash out request
