Bonds in transit refer to bonds or related payments that are currently being processed and have not yet fully settled in your account or are late. This status typically applies to one or more ongoing transactions, such as:
Coupon Payments
When a bond pays interest (a coupon), the payout process may take some time. While the funds are being transferred to your account, the payment is considered in transit.-
Secondary Market Transactions
If you buy or sell bonds in the secondary market, the transaction must be settled before the bond or funds are fully reflected in your account. During this period, the bond, or payment, is in transit:
If sold: The bond proceeds are being transferred to the new owner.
If bought: The purchased bond is being added to your account.
